A & A Engineering worked with Dr. Ralph Taggart, WB8DQT, to create the WSHFAX interface. This is our product #200, and it is available as a KIT or assembled and tested. This unit is featured in chapter 5 of the Fifth Edition of Dr. Taggart's WEATHER SATELLITE HANDBOOK. It will process HF and Satellite weather FAX signals.

The interface is composed of a Satellite FAX Demodulator, HF Fax Demodulator, Digitizer, Computer Line Printer Port I/O, Triple Output Power Supply and a 20 LED Tuning Indicator. The enclosure is pre-punched, painted and lettered - measures 6.00 W x 7.25 D x 3.00 inches H.

If you build the KIT, be advised that alignment is required. You will need a source of 1500 Hz to 2300 Hz input signal for proper alignment.

This is not a receiver, just an interface unit.

The interface connects between your radio (HF and / or Satellite) and the computer. Audio from the receivers is inputted to the interface through standard RCA phono jacks. Connection to the computer is through a standard 25 pin, parallel line printer port cable (which is included). The software recognizes LPT0, LPT1 or LPT2.
